Re: Question about FPS drops

Hello. I'm sorry but I don't speak Portuguese so I'm writing this in English, hoping that someone can answer me.

I'm an EUW player but I haven't found much about the matter on the EU or NA boards, and I noticed that BR boards are quite active so I thought I could ask here about my issue.

Shortly: I've had FPS drops since 7.22/7.23 (preseason 8 patch) that cause my screen to stutter for 1-2 seconds (FPS drop to like 12-15) when using some abilities/fighting with a lot of champions on my screen. I haven't found a solution to this problem and neither could the Riot support, so I think that it's related to the game itself and it's not an issue on my end.

My question is: is someone else here having the same problem? Did someone find a way to mitigate it and make the game at least playable? Did Riot acknowledge the issue here on the BR boards? They did on the NA boards but we've had no news since November, so I'm looking for everything that could help me after 6 months of very bad gameplay.

What I've seen around these few months is that Yes, this kind of problem is quite common right after an Patch Update be released.

Well, sometime ago I had read a topic abou FPS drop issue and how to correct ir (or at least make the game more "playable"; but this new Forum design sucks, so I don't know where the post is atm (I'm sorry). What I advise you is to send a ticket to Player's Support website(https://support.riotgames.com/hc/pt-br) probably a rioter will be able to inform/help you better about it there.

Have you tried to low your game graphic configs already ? I know that this won't solve the whole problem, but at least it will make easy for you to play the game decently.

Take a look around the "Relatos de Bugs" (https://forum.br.leagueoflegends.com/t5/Relatos-de-Bugs/bd-p/Bugs) and "Suporte" (https://forum.br.leagueoflegends.com/t5/Suporte/bd-p/Suporte) sections here on the Forum, maybe you can find something that is useful for you.

I'm surprised that NA and EUW forums haven't an answer to this (as you've said). Are you sure that it is not an issue on your PC hardwer components?

I was able to recover the fps that I had lost in the update by disabling the Game Audio

It's not an issue with my PC simply because every other game (even heavier ones) work perfectly with no problem whatsoever. I've tried everything and nothing worked, not even Riot's Support could help me after a 2 months long ticket (not joking, TWO MONTHS and nothing to fix it). I was browsing the old BR boards and and saw that some people were having the same issue around patch 7.24, so I just decided to ask here if something was still experiencing FPS drops.

Tried that but it didn't work for me sadly, disabling every sound did nothing 😕

Yeah, this FPS drop issue has been around since a long time (or long patches) ago. I honestly don't know if it has a definitive solution at all, because at every new game update the same issue comes back. But for me, personaly, I have never had such problem in game. My PC is not that good, so once I had my game sounds disabled and I noticed that it really helped to improve the frame rate.

Tried everything listed in Riot's troubleshooting article but nothing works.

As for the issue being around for long time, I know, I'm one of the offenders of that and I'm still playing with insane performance issues. The game isn't even enjoyable anymore for me and it's sad that I've had no response on the matter from Riot in six months. 😕

PS: did you completely disable both the client and game sounds? I could try one more time, who knows that it could potentially improve the game now.

Yes, I play with all the sounds and game music turned off. Have you tried to play in other machines? I am afraid there is nothing more that I can do to help you. Well, good luck anyway. I hope they fix that in the next patches, or even soon.
